Contests, Robots, and Random Ramblings

Part 1: Blogger Hates Me

Did you know that I'm a robot? I didn't! lol. I had some problems with blogger earlier today. I received the scary "We're sorry... ... but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now" message today, and was unable to view any one's blog, and couldn't even access my own blog! I know someone else has had this problem before, because I remember seeing someone else blog about it... but I am not really sure what the deal is with that. Is it because I visit countless numbers of blogs everyday? And comment on about 20 different blogs a day? Or maybe because I visit nearly 100 blogs on IMM Sundays! Because before google blocked me from blogger, I did notice that I was having to enter captcha letters everywhere I turned, but I figured that should prove that I'm not a robot... I'm just addicted to blogger! Anyway, I cleared out my cookies and browsing history, and was instantly let back onto blogger. I guess if it happens again I'll have to do some further investigating.

Part 2: Contests!

First off, if you look to the right, I have a list of contests that are currently going on around in the Young Adult blogosphere. I keep them updated, and list them in the order that they end. I'll try to update about once a week when/if I add more to the list. But since all of them are newly listed this time around, I am going to be a little lazy and just point you in the right direction, rather than go into any details on what I've added. There are a lot of wonderful contests going on! Be sure to check them all out.

As for my contest, I am going to have one really soon! I told myself when starting this blog, that I would hold my first contest when I reached 50 followers. For some reason I thought that I would not reach that many followers until this winter, and had a December book in mind to giveaway, but shockingly enough, I am already at 49 followers! WOW! You guys are amazing. Thank you so much! I am not really sure what my first contest will be, but I am keeping my eyes out for something newly released, or soon to be released that I can give away! I have a few ideas in mind.

Part 3: Random Ramblings

I just want to thank everyone for being so welcoming! I've only been blogging for about 6 weeks... I'm still a newbie! But I've had a warm response, and lots of lovely comments over the weeks! I didn't expect to have anyone viewing my blog, or even commenting so early in the game. I figured it would take months to have anyone respond to me! I certainly didn't expect that anyone would want to send me books for review this early in my blogging "career", but I've been lucky, and a few kind authors have contacted me already. I must be doing something right! I'm glad that they have liked my blog well enough to give me a chance :) Heck, I know I am not even going to ask for review copies for months and months, if I even do! (I'm too shy to ask for anything) But a huge majority of the books that I review are books that I've purchased for myself, or have borrowed from the library or a friend, and it will probably always be like that. Even though there are a few books that haven't been released yet that I am simply dying to get my hands on! (Which can be found in my Waiting on Wednesday posts) It's a hobby for me, and I figured if I was going to read 50-100 books a year, I might as well do something to take my obsession with books to the next level! Hence the blog. Plus, I've been wanting to start a blog for awhile...

Thanks again for all of your comments! I think that I will be sticking to this blog for a very long time... and I try to comment on your blogs as much as I can! However, sometimes I read your blog, then forget to comment... but I'm getting better at it!!!
